Concrete pavers

Dry cast concrete: a dry mix machine-pressed into moulds, giving strong, uniform blocks. The standard choice for driveways, parking and industrial yards, and also used for patios and paths. Available in smooth, fade-resistant natural-stone, exposed-gravel, rippled and wavy-stone finishes.

Colour swatches are a guide: natural products and batches vary, and screens show colour differently.

Questions

Choosing materials

Which paver is best for a driveway?

For most homes, machine-pressed (dry cast) concrete bevel or interlocking pavers laid in herringbone are the strongest and most cost-effective choice for cars. Clay pavers are a good upgrade if you want colour that lasts. For heavy vehicles we use thicker 80 mm pavers. Wet cast pavers are better suited to patios, paths and pool areas than to driveways.

What's the difference between clay, dry cast and wet cast pavers?

Concrete pavers come in two types: machine-pressed (dry cast) pavers, which are strong and affordable, and wet cast pavers, which have natural stone textures and suit patios and paths. Clay pavers are made from fired clay rather than concrete; they cost more, but their colour runs right through and lasts.

How do I look after my paving?

Sweep regularly, top up the joint sand if it washes out, and deal with weeds early. Cleaning and sealing every few years keeps the colour rich. We can do the cleaning, re-sanding and sealing for you.
